Thule, the world leader in sports and recreation products that make it easier for people to transport their equipment safely, securely and in style, proudly supported Paddle Round the Pier as Europe's biggest free beach and water sports festival.

This year, in line with Thule's events strategy, Thule and local dealer to the event, Brighton Canoes, had a fervent presence over the weekend, drawing 20,000 people into Brighton attracting a mass of enthusiasts and athletes alike. The event returned to Hove Lawns and the neighboring beach on Saturday and Sunday (7-8 July), focusing on outdoor activities from cycling to surfing to kayaking all being represented in some shape or form.

As a joint marketing initiative, Thule collaborated with Brighton Canoes to front the Thule stand one of the largest at the show. Whilst the rain had an obvious effect on attendance, there were no damp spirits at Paddle Round the Pier 2012. It was a show that could have been tailor made for Thule judging by the response that Brighton Canoes had from the event. Paddle Round the Pier generated excellent attention to the Thule products on display.

Thule and Brighton Canoes chose to demo the new K-Guard Kayak Carrier with innovative lockable straps, alongside bike carriers, and other active lifestyle products. Many products were sold through Brighton Canoes over the weekend, along with a good selection of standard Thule lines. Activity included a competition to win a Thule K-Guard, the opportunity to purchase product from Brighton Canoes and dedicated Thule staff on hand to advise the hordes of crowds as they passed through. The competition received 1500 entries a success for Thule and Brighton Canoes! Peter Barker, UK Business Manager commented on the success of the event: This has been a fantastic event to be involved in with a great atmosphere. To have around 20,000 people attend an event in dreadful weather was testament to the affection that the Paddle holds in people's hearts. Not only did we receive positive feedback to the Brand from the end consumer, but we received two strong trade enquiries from two large surfing stores

Brighton Canoes started its association to the leading activity lifestyle brand with big bounds by displaying Thule products at the Paddle Round the Pier event.
