The very latest Thule roof boxes represents
a giant step forward in entry level roof boxes. With the exception
of the Ocean 80, Thule Pacifics come as standard with a new
"Fast-Grip" mounting system with all fixing
done instantly from inside the box. Models from the 200 upward
incorporate a lowered base to allow the roof bars to be partly
covered to minimise air resisistance. This has the effect
of reducing wind noise and vibrations as well as maximising
fuel efficiency.
When going on weekend trips or with a small car, a box like
the Ocean 80 or Pacific 100 can be just the solution. If you
want to carry plenty of luggage the Pacific 200 and 600 may
be just right. However, if you’re a skier, you will
certainly need something longer like the Pacific 500 or 700,
or perhaps the Pacific 600 which is ideal for carving skis
up to 180cm long. Additionally, the longer boxes will allow
them to be easilly combined with cycles or surfboards etc.
